Credit Card Applications Errors - Wrong Address

Some errors made on credit card applications are more serious than others.  Unlike the type of error that is going to just delay your approval, having the wrong address on your credit card applications can result in some serious problems.

it is not just the delay in having your credit cards going to the wrong address and then having to be sent back to the issuing company only to contact you and get your correct address.  This is a best-case scenario if your address is wrong.  The big problem is you are having unsigned credit cards sent to you in the mail.  If someone is dishonest and does not just send it back, they could sign the back of the card themselves.  This would mean that any store clerk who is checking the signature of the card would find a match and wouldn't question whoever is using it.

Most credit cards today have to be activated after they are received by you to give a little more security.  This does help the problem of cards going to the wrong address but if you have moved or put down an old address, the person might be able to get enough information from your other mail that has gone to that address to activate the card.  It would only be at the point of you questioning where your card is, since you haven't received it or the other person not paying the bill and you getting a call about you missing payments until you would realize it is being used.

Please remember to double-check all your information on your credit card applications before submitting them.  This will ensure your applications get processed quickly and with little headaches.
