Rewards Credit Card ApplicationsBefore you go and fill out any rewards credit card applications you really have to take a look at whether or not you are going to actually redeem those points for whatever rewards they offer. Studies have shown that the majority of people do not ever redeem the reward point they collect. This results in them paying higher interest rates and annual fees and not receiving any other benefits than if they had filled out Low interest credit card applications. So why did they fill out the rewards credit card applications in the first place? Usually it is because there is such good advertising for these types of credit cards that it makes you want to apply for them regardless of whether or not you are going to use the points. You might see people sitting on the beach relaxing and enjoying a beverage because they had redeemed their Air miles but if you have not gone away in the past five years, why do you think you would start now? If it was just a money thing then maybe. But if you cannot get the time off of work or maybe you have kids that prevent it but you have to remember those things are not going to change just because you have new credit cards. Take a closer look at those credit card applications. Try and figure out how long it is going to take you to earn enough points for that trip or new TV or whatever other type of reward you want. I don't have anything against reward credit cards and they work really well for some people. But be realistic on whether or not you will be able to use the points. If it were a question at all, I would apply for low interest credit cards instead.
