Credit Cards and their different fees

  With all credit cards now days there seems to be more and more fees that come up other than just the interest charges and annual fee.  You need to make sure you read all the fine print on the credit card applications to find out what the different types of fees for different things are.  The credit card applications should be able to tell you exactly what all the fees are for the credit cards you are applying for.

  There was once a day when your credit limit was the actual limit you could charge on your credit cards.  In today's world, most credit cards will let you go over your limit.  But for this privilege there is going to be a fee.  We are not talking about a little $1 fee or something small like that.  These fees can be as much as $35 or more.  Most of the time it does not matter how much over your limit you are, just that you are over it.  So if you go over by only $10, you will get a fee of $35.  This is why you must read your credit card applications completely and find out what these fees are.  If it is something outrages like that, do not ever go over your credit limit.  Make sure you always know you balance before charging anything.

  This is not the only other extra fee you might get with your credit cards.  If you are late on a payments, many times you will get a penalty of $20 or more.  And it doesn't matter if you are one day late or two weeks late.   They don't care if the post office delivered your payment late and that is why, it is your responsibility to get the payment to them on time each month.  Just like filling out credit card applications online, I find it is best to make your bill payments online as well.  This makes you certain the payment was received on time.  Making your monthly bills an automatic payment is an even better way to do things.  This will ensure you do not incur any late payment fees and keeps your credit history in good standing.

  These are only some of the different fees you will incur with credit cards.  Read the credit card applications thoroughly and find out exactly what fees you are going to incur.  You can save a lot of money if you avoid these unnecessary fees.
