Activating Your Bank of America Credit Cards

  Now that you have filled out your Bank of America credit card applications and have been approved and finally received  your credit cards there is still one more step before you can start charging any purchases with it.  You will need to activate it before you are able to use it.  This is done as an extra security measure in case the card was sent to the wrong house by mistake or was stolen in the mail.  As with filling out credit card applications online, you can now activate your Bank of America credit cards online.  If you do not want to activate it online, then you will have to phone the Bank of America to have it activated.

  It might seem like a pain to have to activate it but it is a lot less of a hassle than if it was stolen.  If you didn't have to activate your card, it could take a long time before you realized someone had stolen it.  After filling out your credit card applications online it is a simple and painless thing to activate it online.  My suggestion is once you receive your card you sing the back of it right away and then activate either by phone or online.  Do not activate your card until you have signed it just in case you end up losing the card.  You do not want to lose an activated but unsigned card.  This is just for extra security.
